YOUR MISSION
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant leads the monthly close workflow, including consolidations, complex journal entries and maintaining audit-ready schedules in preparation of Nulogy’s financial statements. This role also serves as a bridge between operational accounting and external coordination and reporting to auditors, tax professionals and other third-party stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight of the month-end close process with continuous efficiency improvements that reduce time and errors—this includes both preparation and review of journal entries, subledgers, reconciliations and workbooks.
- Preparation and analysis of financial statements that ensure compliance with GAAP, ASPE and internal controls.
- 100% accurate and on-time payroll processing for Canada, United States, UK and other EOR employees globally.
- Weekly forecast and management of short-term cash projections.
- Coordination of PBC schedules, responses and testing samples directly with internal team members for external auditors, for both consolidated corporate and UK regulatory audits.
- Compliance of all tax requirements, including CAD GST/HST, US SUT, UK VAT and assisting tax partners with income tax filings in all jurisdictions.
- Integration of historical financials and processes for any acquired companies.
- Documented processes and policies for both internal and external audiences.
- Research and implement new accounting policies or standards when necessary.
- Support to the Controller in any ad hoc analysis, special projects and tax studies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA or candidate preferred)
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1 year of private industry (P/E owned or SaaS a plus)
- Proficiency in accounting software (ex. Sage Intacct, Avalara) and advanced Excel skills
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision with ability to analyze large volumes of data
- Strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility and initiative combined with a natural curiosity and foresight to see around the corner
- Handling of sensitive and confidential financial information in most professional manner
