YOUR MISSION
The Accountant, working with the Controller and the rest of the Finance team, will be responsible for helping with the contract to cash cycle as well as the purchase to payable cycle. They will assist the team in ensuring all customer contracts are set up in the ERP and that billings and revenue recognition are accurate and timely as well as ensuring that all purchase invoices are properly entered and paid. The Accountant will also be an integral part of the month end reporting process including the preparation of various working papers, managing revenue recognition, and reconciliation of deferred revenue. They will assist with the year-end audit, and aid in the implementation of strong internal controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating sales orders in the accounting system and ensuring the accounting system and the company’s CRM systems are in sync, maintaining alignment between contracts and invoices, and managing collections.
- Ensure revenue recognition is accurate, and complete monthly recurring revenue reporting and deferred revenue reconciliations
- Prepare monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and working papers/schedules
- Manage sales tax compliance and filings
- Continuously review processes and systems for improvements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary degree (BCom/BBA preferred)
- CPA designation or working on designation
- 4 years relevant experience
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Project management capabilities – the ability to plan, initiate, implement and monitor projects cross departmentally
- Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge
